Compounded by insufficient funding, lengthy decision-making processes, and limited knowledge about digital transformation, the situation needs improvement. We have launched a groundbreaking pilot project with the city of Gelsenkirchen. For the first time in Germany, EMMA®AI, a universal AI assistant, will support the citizen services of this 270,000-resident city. By the end of 2024, we will complete a feasibility study and prototype with the city. Subsequently, EMMA®AI will be implemented as a standard tool in the city’s public administration. This initiative will help mitigate the impacts of staff shortages and administrative workload while enhancing citizen services.
